What to look for when checking your locks

Ideally your cylinder lock (common on most upvc doors) should be flush with the handle case or at the very most only protrude by 5mm (left-hand picture). If this is not the case (right-hand picture) the lock is vulnerable to snapping – this is a common technique used by burglars.
