Recommended checks before you book a locksmith can save you £££s
If you are faced with an emergency situation where you are locked out or can’t secure your home or business you may find yourself needing to book a locksmith in a hurry. If you take these quick steps you can ensure that you select someone who is qualified and will charge you a fair price for a quality job.
- Check that you know who will be doing the work on your home or at your business. Some national firms who advertise cheap prices may just pass on your job to whoever is available in their list of subcontractors – this may make it difficult to follow up if you have problems with their work. You can find out more about who we are at GRN on our ‘about GRN Locksmith’ page.
- Check the reviews for the business on different platforms. You should get the same impression from all the different reviews – don’t reject a locksmith because of one or two bad reviews (competitors have been known to put up damaging fats reviews which can be tricky to remove). You can read GRN’s reviews on Checkatrade, facebook and Google.
- Check with the locksmith how much the total cost of work will be before they start any work. Cheap quotes for re-entry often end up with an unskilled locksmith drilling open a lock and then charging £100s to provide a replacement. You can find guide prices for GRN on our ‘GRN Locksmith services’ page but Geoff will always discuss pricing with you before starting a job. GRN do not charge a call-out fee.
